Over time, plastic airboxes lose their clamping ability due to expansion and contraction. As a result of poor sealing and cracks in the plastic, dust and water can enter the airbox and potentially damage your vehicles’ engine, plus reduce power and fuel efficiency.

Manufactured from premium 304 grade stainless steel, Torqit’s Airbox remains structurally rigid when exposed to heat and water. By preventing the warping that is common in plastic airboxes, Torqit’s stainless steel airbox prevents loss of tension around the lid and remains tightly sealed in all conditions.

Installation
Air intake box replacement is a relatively straightforward procedure with the right tools and experience. Seeking professional assistance is always the most efficient, practical way to approach replacing an air compressor box, however, for enthusiasts and DIY lovers, the steps are as follows:

You will need:

Wrenches
Drill
Custom air filter box kit

Disconnect the battery’s negative terminal for safety

Remove the old airbox by disconnecting any sensors and hoses and removing the bolts or clips

Clean and assemble the new air box

Install by placing the new air filter box in the same location and securing it with the bolts or clips.

Reconnect the sensors and hoses

Connect and install the filter in the airbox, ensuring it is correctly seated and secured.

Reconnect the battery

Maintenance
The air cleaner filter box contributes to the reliability and longevity of the vehicle and must be inspected and maintained regularly for optimum function. Although several factors affect the scheduling of airbox cleaning and replacement (as tackled in detail in the FAQs), a sensible rule of thumb is to replace the filter every 19-24,000 kilometres or 12 months, whichever comes first.
