Is a wired throttle controller better than a wireless one?

Neither is better. They suit different drivers. A wired throttle controller like the Pedal Torq gives you a dedicated, always-visible control unit on your dash. You can switch modes without unlocking your phone or pairing via Bluetooth. If you value simplicity and direct, fingertip control, the Pedal Torq is the right call. If you prefer a clean dash and app-based control, the Pedal Torq Plus is the wireless alternative.

Will the Pedal Torq suit my vehicle?

The Pedal Torq is available for most 4WD, ute, SUV, and passenger vehicles manufactured from 2005 onwards. This includes popular models like the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Toyota Landcruiser 300 Series, Isuzu D-MAX, Mitsubishi Triton, and many more. Use the vehicle finder above to confirm compatibility with your make and model.

Does the Pedal Torq affect my fuel economy?

In Eco and Cruise modes, the Pedal Torq can improve fuel efficiency. When throttle response is delayed, most drivers press harder on the pedal to compensate, which burns more fuel. The Pedal Torq removes that need, giving you cleaner, more efficient acceleration. Sport and Intelligent modes may increase fuel use if you drive more aggressively as a result.

Does it void my factory warranty?

No. The Pedal Torq does not connect to or modify your vehicle's ECU or computer system. It works by intercepting the signal between your accelerator pedal and the ECU. It does not void your factory warranty.

What does Intelligent mode do on the Pedal Torq?

Intelligent mode monitors how you drive and adjusts the throttle response over time to match your individual style. If you tend to drive smoothly, it softens the response. If you drive more assertively, it sharpens it. The result is a throttle response that feels natural and personalised without you having to manually tune each setting.

What is the difference between Off-Road and Eco mode?

Off-Road mode reduces throttle sensitivity to give you finer control at low speeds, which is useful on loose surfaces like sand, gravel, and rocky terrain where too much throttle causes wheel spin. Eco mode also reduces sensitivity but is tuned for highway and urban cruising to improve fuel efficiency. Off-Road prioritises control. Eco prioritises economy.

Can I use the Pedal Torq for towing?

Yes. The Pedal Torq is particularly effective for towing because it removes the hesitation that makes heavy-load driving stressful. With faster throttle response, overtaking becomes more confident and maintaining speed on inclines is easier. Eco or Cruise mode is recommended for smooth, controlled towing. Sport mode is better for shorter bursts of acceleration when you need more urgency.

Does the Pedal Torq work with diesel engines?

Yes. The Pedal Torq is designed for both diesel and petrol vehicles and works especially well with diesel 4WDs, which often have the most noticeable throttle lag from the factory due to conservative ECU tuning for emissions compliance. Diesel drivers typically notice the biggest improvement.

How long does installation take?

Under five minutes. Unplug the factory accelerator connector, plug in the Pedal Torq harness, mount the dash unit in your preferred position, and you are done. No tools required. No cutting or rewiring needed.

Take Back Control of Your Throttle Response

If your 4WD feels slow off the mark or sluggish when towing, the problem is not your engine. It is throttle lag.

The Pedal Torq sits between your accelerator pedal and your vehicle’s ECU, intercepting the signal and sharpening the response. The result is immediate: faster off the mark, smoother under load, and more confidence when you need it most.

Anyone who drives a 4WD, ute, or diesel vehicle should have a wired throttle controller fitted. The Pedal Torq is the straightforward, reliable choice: a plug-and-play unit that puts you firmly in control without any app, Bluetooth pairing, or technical setup.

What Sets the Pedal Torq Apart

The Next-Gen PedalTorq gives you greater control over your vehicle’s throttle response with 9 selectable driving modes and Bluetooth app control. Designed for a more personalised driving experience, you can adjust your throttle response to suit different driving conditions and preferences.

9 Modes Built for How You Actually Drive

Comfort: Smooth, controlled throttle response.

Sport: Quicker throttle response and stronger acceleration.

Race: Maximum throttle response for performance driving.

Intelligent: Automatically adapts the acceleration curve to your driving.

Economy: Gentle throttle response for fuel-conscious driving.

Factory: Returns to standard factory throttle response.

Off-Road: Stable and predictable throttle response for off-road conditions.

Valet: Limits maximum throttle input for controlled vehicle use.

Overtake: Quickly switches to Race Mode for maximum throttle response.

With Bluetooth app control, switching modes and adjusting settings is simple and convenient. PedalTorq also includes Anti-Theft, Rumble and Winch Modes for added functionality beyond everyday throttle control.
